Bradley & Hubbard Cranberry Hobnail Hanging Library Lamp
This circa 1890's Bradley & Hubbard kerosene oil hanging lamp has a cranberry hobnail shade. Signed "B&H" on the filler cap; patent dated "JULY 1 1890 & NOV 20 1894" on the flame spreader; patent dated on the chimney ledge " AUG 30 1892 & APL 28 1896". The all brass frame is fancy embossed, matching patterned in alternating cherry and yellow brass. Fancy embossed scrolling brass arms, with extra fancy scrolls at the band. Fancy embossed font, tank intact and uncut. Still in kerosene condition, never drilled or electrified. All original parts, including the original B&H smokebell. The patent dated canopy motor/winder intact and working. The standard 14" Hobnail patterned shade is a terrific brilliant cranberry, truly shimmering, the best. Highly desirable high dome at 7" tall; flawless condition, no chips cracks or breaks. Period cut faceted crystal prisms; 30 around the shade band, and 12 around the leveler. The lamp is 35" long unextended, will extend at least another 20". 18" across the side arms. Professionally polished and lacquered and ready for your home.
